Commitment to Support Emission Reduction, EFK Continues to Hold Green Care Action.

PT Elnusa Fabrikasi Konstruksi (EFK) planted tree seedlings in the SP Tapen Pertamina project area Zone 11 Piping and Cepu Pipeline as one of the programs being implemented, namely Green Care. The Green Care agenda was held on Monday (29/5) and also coincided with the commemoration of World Environment Day, which take place on 5 June.

A total of 41 tree seedlings have been planted, symbolizing the numbers for EFK, which turned 41 years old on 5 May 2023. Planting of seeds consisting of forest trees and fruit trees, including mahogany, super teak, ketapang kencana, mango, rambutan, langsat, avocado, soursop, and kedondong is carried out on the land with minimal reforestation to strengthen capacity against climate change and reduce the number of carbon emissions.

Throughout 2023, 190 tree seedlings have been planted in EFK's field areas spread across five EFK project locations. The selection of tree species also takes into account the effectiveness of the trees on the impact of planting, namely the types of plants that can survive in a dry environment so that they are expected to grow for a long time and can play a role in decarbonization around the project area.

Suwanto, as the Cepu Piping & Pipeline Project Manager, also expressed his hope that the planting and maintaining of tree seedlings can continue to run smoothly to initiate environmentally wise work areas.

Awareness and participation of EFK Officers is able to provide tangible benefits for environmental balance through the Green Care program. Therefore, this agenda can spread positive energy about the importance of the environment in the work area.

The Green Care activity is one of the steps to implementing ESG by EFK as a form of environmental mitigation and helping to preserve the environment in the work area. EFK supports Indonesia's commitment to reducing emissions by 29% by 2030 through this agenda. In line with this, EFK has set a target of reducing carbon emissions equivalent to 27.2 tons of CO2e/year. (AMR)
