EFK Delivers Knowledge on Understanding the Challenges of the Working World at the School Committee Workshop at SMK Negeri 5 Pekanbaru

Tuesday, 21st November 2023 – PT Elnusa Fabrikasi Konstruksi (EFK) was present as a resource company on the agenda of the "School Committee Workshop in Developing Collaboration with the Working World" on Tuesday (21/11). EFK attended as a company that provides an understanding of post-school information for school committees and students in SMK Negeri 5 Pekanbaru

The workshop agenda was held to support expanding opportunities for cooperation between the Vocational School program and the working world in Pekanbaru, one of the implementation objectives of the Center of Excellence Vocational School Program in 2023. It stands with the program run by EFK; namely, EFK Goes to School, with a commitment to providing education to the schools in accordance with Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) No. 4, which is Quality Education.

The workshop was taken offline, featuring school committee members and 15 representative students from SMK Negeri 5 Pekanbaru. Also present were Drs. Dwi Bowo Sukmono, SMK Negeri 5 Pekanbaru's principal, gave a speech on the workshop agenda.

The agenda continued with explaining the conditions of post-school employment delivered by Ir. H. Delisis Hasanto as Deputy Chair of the Riau Province KADIN for HR and Vocational Development. Delisis said there was a need to develop student competencies by honing soft skills and not just focusing on hard skills.

Acting as a resource person, EFK Talent Acquisition, Dilla Selvya Rezti presented a brief explanation about the challenges of the working world, including the competencies that prospective job applicants must have, a general explanation of the recruitment process, steps in making a curriculum vitae, and tips & tricks for the interview process.

The agenda then continued with a question and answer session given to SMK Negeri 5 Pekanbaru students, followed by questions presented by the school committee. The audience's enthusiasm at the workshop agenda was seen in the questions asked and showed a high level of curiosity regarding the recruitment process at EFK as well as in general.

EFK Communications & Relations, Aswin Archy Saputra said that EFK Goes to School is one of the agendas included in EFK's flagship sustainability social responsibility program, namely Moving to Spread the Benefits (BERSAMA) for Indonesia which focuses on the education sector. Through this agenda, it is hoped that it can provide benefits and encourage the potential of students at SMK Negeri 5 Pekanbaru to prepare themselves to face the working world.

The implementation of this agenda is to support empowerment and sustainable resource development. This agenda is hoped to provide added value and expand knowledge in developing quality and sustainable potential resources for the future of SMK Negeri 5 Pekanbaru students.
