Safety Begins at Home: Elnusa Fabrikasi Konstruksi Engages Workers’ Families in Rokan

Bengkalis, September 25, 2025 – For workers, especially in the oil and gas industry, returning home safely is the top daily priority. Recognizing that the greatest emotional support comes from home, PT Elnusa Fabrikasi Konstruksi (EFK), a subsidiary of PT Elnusa Tbk, successfully held the Share & Care program on Thursday (September 25), under the theme “Building a Safety Culture Starting from Home, Reinforced at the Workplace.”

The event took place in the Rokan Work Area, at the PT Pertamina Hulu Rokan (PHR) Project Work Unit Rate - Multidiscipline (WUR-MD) site in Duri, Bengkalis. The program emphasized the emotional involvement of workers’ families as a key pillar in cultivating a strong safety culture.

Share & Care invited family members to gain first-hand insight into the workplace environment. This approach is considered crucial in fostering a collective understanding of workplace risks and the importance of safety practices. The program continued with a discussion session in a classroom setting, providing a space for feedback and reinforcing the role of families in supporting workplace health and safety initiatives.

Ari Wijaya, Director of EFK, highlighted the essential role of families in workplace safety.
“We recognize that peace of mind and happiness at home form the foundation for workers’ focus in the field. Families are the primary support system and the strongest reminder for workers to prioritize safety,” said Ari.
“Work can be performed safely and effectively when employees feel secure and happy. The Share & Care program is designed to strengthen safety messages holistically, ensuring that safety begins the moment they step out of their homes.”

The human-centered initiative received strong support from PT Pertamina Hulu Rokan (PHR). Pramudyana Agus Harlianto, Senior Manager of Construction PHR, welcomed the program:
“At PHR, we have a similar program called NASIHAT, or Naluri Operasi Handal dan Selamat. We highly appreciate EFK’s initiative and hope it can be implemented sustainably across all PHR work areas. The main goal is clear: to ensure that every worker stays healthy and returns home safely to their loved ones.”

The program included workshop and discussion sessions emphasizing the active role of families in promoting workplace safety.

Responding to the program, Puput, the wife of one of the workers, expressed her gratitude:
“Experiencing the heat in the field and seeing my husband at work firsthand makes us, as a family, more proactive in reminding him to always prioritize safety and return home safely,” she said.
